CUPERTINO, Calif., October 22, 2026 — Smobile Factory today announced that NewsPlay AI, its listen-first news app, is now available on Google Play as well as the App Store. NewsPlay AI gathers the latest stories from the sources each listener picks and plays them as a short spoken brief, so people can catch up on the news while they commute, cook or work out. The app is free to download, with an optional Pro plan that removes ads.
Your news, ready to play
Most news apps decide what you read and keep you scrolling. NewsPlay AI starts with the sources you already trust. Listeners pick them once, from 65 hand-picked sources in Discover or by pasting a link to almost anything: a website, an RSS feed, a YouTube channel, a subreddit, or a Bluesky or Mastodon profile.
Each morning, NewsPlay AI collects the latest stories from those sources and reads them aloud as a brief that plays like a podcast. The story list follows along, and one tap skips to the next story. Every story names its source and opens the full original article, so listeners always know where the news comes from.
For people who would rather read, every story is there to read too, with a mini player that keeps playing on every screen.
